Choosing Your Weight
The most common mistake is starting too heavy. Because a gada or mudgar carries its weight far from your grip, it feels far heavier in motion than it looks. Begin lighter than pride suggests — good form with a lighter tool builds more real strength, and far fewer injuries, than a heavy tool swung badly.
| Tool | Beginner | Intermediate | Advanced |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gada | 2–4 kg | 6–10 kg | 15 kg + |
| Mudgar | 5 kg | 10–15 kg | 20 kg + |
| Samtola | 5–10 kg | 20–30 kg | 50 kg + |
| Indian Clubs | 1 kg (pair) | — | — |
